Now that we got the little girl going to bed at a decent time… in a big girl bed, and sleeping all night long… the next thing is getting that damn bottle away form her. For some reason, she has to have it at night and in the morning. I still haven’t gotten the balls to just take it away and let her cry… I am just super happy that she is going to bed without a fight. We looked online for some super nanny 911 tricks, but so far have found no real winners. There was one, that looked promising – give her a bottle with something that she hates in it…. and milk in her sippy cup. I might try that tomorrow.

What do you do? Any special tricks?

With Wyatt sleeping, I was free to concentrate on getting the girl bathed and tucked in to bed. The night went really well. Usually the boy will want demand some food every two to three hours. But I think that this time he got really full. He slept from 8-1:30am. Then mom came home and hooked him up when he got up.

I have a chance at surviving two kids after all.

I have two kids in diapers so…

right now, I think that I change about 10 12 a day for my newborn, and about 8-10 for my 21mth old. So lets just round down to an average of 17 a day, 119 a week, about 476 a month, and 6,664 a year. So lets say that they are in diapers for only two years… thats at the very least 13,328 diapers. I wonder what that looks like. How big would the pile be.?

Here is video that show us some diaper facts…

dont get me wrong… I will never use disposable diapers… and we use this many a year…

This is something that really bothers me for some stupid reason. Why is it nearly impossible to find newborn and infant pajamas with zippers. What is the deal? Zippers are way easier, faster, and look better. So why would they do this to us. I was at Kohl’s today, and the Carters rep, just happened to be there. The conversion went like this…

Carter’s Lady: Can I help you find something?

Me: Yeah, I need to find some newborn or 0-3mth pajamas with zippers

Carter’s Lady: We have some really nice ones with buttons

Me: I don’t want buttons, I hate buttons, I want zippers

Carter’s Lady: Well, we don’t have any of those, in-fact we have phased zippers out of infant ware, and are not even making them anymore

Me: That’s the stupidest thing I have ever herd, are you kidding me? Why would you do that?

Carter’s Lady: Well, we have had some negative feedback about them. Some people are zipping up their kids skin

Me: Those people are stupid. With a zipper you just zip once… with buttons you have at least a dozen chances to pinch their skin in the button snaps

Carter’s Lady: And people also….

Me: People are stupid, zippers are faster, eaiser, and look better.

Carter’s Lady: I will let someone know

Me: You do that.

So… I’m an asshole. But is it too much to ask to have at least the option of having a zipper. I spent all day looking for these endangered species of sleepwear, and only found two, really ugly ones. So I stocked up and bought a few of each in different sizes.

I’m now deciding to put together a store that has nothing but pajamas with zippers.

The day stared at 4 am. Everything progressed nice and smooth and Wyatt was born at 3:22 in the after noon. We left for home the next day.

Since we came home, everything has been great. The baby breastfeeding like and champ! He has already surpassed his birth weight and is sleeping great. I would have to say that things couldn’t be going better. And as for out little girl, Marley… she seems to really love having the little guy around and is realy great with him.

On my first trip out of the house since bringing home baby, I went and purchased a new king size bed. I cant believe that we hadn’t done that sooner. Sleeping is really good, and there is tons of room int here for the whole family.

The diaper thing is getting a little out of control… at last count, I am changing about 17-20 diapers a day, between the two kids. Time to really start pushing the potty training.

Well back to work… check back soon!

What a man should pack when its time to go to the hospital and have that baby

When she says that its time to go… you need to be ready. Have the bags packed in advance if possible

Here is a list of things that you should bring. Now, this is the list of stuff for you to bring… most women will have a suitcase full of stuff that they want to have, just make sure that your lady packs her bag well in advance.

This is a list of the stuff that I packed in my hospital bag

Change of clothes- if the labor takes a long time or there are any complications, you might be there for a while. Also bring something comfortable to sleep in

Toothbrush and toothpaste for everybody

Some games to keep you busy in down time- I brought cribbage, travel scrabble and some cards

Books or Magazines

iPod and speakers- my wife really liked having music during labor

DVD’s and Player

Snacks- Power Bars and trail mix, and gum for nasty breath

Aspirin or something for headaches

MOST IMPORTANT!!!- Cameras, film, batteries, if you forget this… your dead!

Also remember to make sure that your lady has all her stuff packed and ready, and be sure to have some stuff for the new baby as well. Like their fist little outfits, pacifiers, receiving blankets etc.

When your at the hospital, remember to loot the place. Take everything that you can get your hands on… you are paying for it!

Don’t forget to have the Car Seat installed properly before you get to the hospital- they wont even let you take the baby home if its not installed right.

With a pencil, lightly draw the outline of the tree

Get a roll of painters tape, and tear off a little strip (this is for the lines on the trees)

Stick the tape to the wall, where you want the lines to be

Paint your tree

After the paint is dry, tear off the tape and touch up

Or just comment or email me if you want me to come out and paint some at your house.

Well, I have the car and bags all packed up again. Just waiting for the call from my wife, who is still working, that its time to go. I feel like I am on constant alert. But, lately… its been more like hurry up and wait. I don’t know if this little guy is ever going to come. I wonder how big he is now. About a month ago, the ultrasound read 7.9lbs. Got to be at least a 10 pounder.

Wait and see…
