Notes from a Stay at Home Dad… tips, tricks, stories and fun
One Crazy Zoo – Olympic Game Farm Sequim, Wa
So the other day, we decided to go on a nice little day trip.  We heard from some friends about this drive thru farm that had crazy llamas, yaks, buffalo, deer, bunnies, lions, tigers, bears, elk, zebra, and even a rhinoceros with a six foot horn.  You get to feed them and they come right up to your car.  So we had to go. From Seattle, if you drive, its about two hours... or you can take th...

Home Alone
Last night, I had my first "real alone time" with both kids.  My wife went on a little shopping trip, and then to a movie... leaving me with little girl, and the 4 week old boy for like 6 hours.  The first few hours were pretty hectic... but then I got to feed the boy for the first time.  He has only been boob fed until now.  We have about 60-80 bags (our freezer is full of boob juice) ready f...
No F&*%kin Zipper Pajamas…Any Where?
This is something that really bothers me for some stupid reason.  Why is it nearly impossible to find newborn and infant pajamas with zippers.  What is the deal?  Zippers are way easier, faster, and look better.  So why would they do this to us.  I was at Kohl's today, and the Carters rep, just happened to be there.   The conversion went like this... Carter's Lady:  Can I help you find som...

My Dad’s, Dad’s, Mom’s, Dad- My Great Great Grandpa

Posted By: newdadscliffnotes.com on October 24, 2009 in Family, Our Kids, Photos of the Kids - Comments: No Comments »

… that’s who Marley would say that she visited today.

One of the best things that a new dad can do for his kids is let them get to know their family… all of them, or at least as much as possible.

Today we went for a little visit to visit my Great Grandpa’s, that would be our daughter’s Great Great Grandpa.  Then we met up with the rest of the family for a little get togeather over at my parents house… they are all in town for a baby shower that the wife is having this weekend.  Anyway, just thought it was cool that there were five gernertions of us all one time.  There are not alot of people that can experience that.

We All Have the Cutest Kid?

Posted By: newdadscliffnotes.com on October 23, 2009 in Our Kids, Photos of the Kids - Comments: No Comments »

Before I begin… I just want to warn you (warning for the new dads) of the gross overuse of the word “CUTE.”  I usually like to be more manly, but dont really know any other word to use other than that.  So… sorry.

I am constantly thinking that our kid really lucked out to have gotten her Mama’s genes (I resemble a caveman) because she is really, really cute, both of them.  We must have the cutest kid in the world, and I really do think this.  But, do all of us parents think that our kids are the cutest kids out there?  Even if the kid is weird, or funny looking… do we still think that our kid is super cute.

LOOK AT THESE FREAKY KIDS!!

I have seen some really homely looking kids out there with really good looking parents, and also some crazy looking parents with super cute babies.  Is there any connection at all.  That doesn’t really have anything to do with this topic, but I just wanted to bring that up.  The more that I think of it, the feeling of our offspring’s super-cuteness  must be something that is deep in our evolutionary genes.  God must have made parents think that our kids are super cute, so that we would keep from eating our your, like so many other animals in the animal kingdom.  What do you think?  Is your kid the cutest kid in the world?

I think that we really do have the cutest kid in the world.  I have proof.

I haven’t figured out the flicker thing yet but here is a link to some awesome photos.

Disclousure- I am not implying my kid is the cutest kid in the world, not that your kids are  ugly, weird, funny looking, or anything like that… who am I kidding?  Yes I am…
